My Dynasty rankings have a focus on a three-year window. These rankings are designed to give you a good idea of how to draft a dynasty startup but also provide trade value. It is not perfect when negotiating a trade because every team is built differently, but this gives you a decent idea of where values lie when discussing trades.

A couple of important notes when looking at these rankings:

  • With many dynasty leagues using saves+holds instead of saves, I value relievers that way for this list. In saves+holds, I would much rather wait on relievers with great ratios that will get holds since they are valued the same as saves. Therefore, you will find fewer relievers on my list than others. I try to tier the relievers based on skill level and the number of Sv/Hld they can provide.

  • These rankings are designed for a 5x5 league with batting average. More rankings for points and OBP are coming, but this list has 5x5 in mind.

  • These rankings factor in weekly lineup leagues. For daily, Ohtani is the clear-cut number one.

Tier 1 1. Ronald Acuña Jr., OF, ATL After spending a ton of time debating, I landed on Ronald Acuña Jr. as my number one overall player for dynasty leagues. With that being said, this is a tier of six players, and I think each represents an argument for the top spot. Acuña had a bit of a down year in 2022, coming off of his torn ACL. He still managed to s…

Chris Clegg's Top-500 Fantasy Prospects
Prospects are a significant part of playing in Dynasty Fantasy Baseball leagues. The more you play in dynasty leagues, the more likely you are to become addicted to prospects, or at least that’s how it worked for me. Many players develop prospect obsessions that they hold onto, hoping for them to excel at the big league level. Whether you draft prospects to build a great farm system or use them as trade chips, they are extremely valuable pieces for your dynasty league…

2023 FYPD Rankings for Dynasty Baseball
Hopefully, you checked out my FYPD Primer yesterday to show you how to navigate your draft and the traits and tendencies to look for in these players. Writing that article even helped me think about how to approach drafts. The rankings are great, but they aren’t perfect. Every pick has a strategy, depending on how your team is set up for contention or rebuilding…

Back to dynasty. It is important to think about team build when using a dynasty list. If you are rebuilding or built to win in year 2, push prospects and younger players up. Drop players like Verlander and Scherzer down a bit.

If you are built to win now, pieces like Verlander and Scherzer are much more valuable to you despite having less trade value.

By subscribing, you can access my Top-500 dynasty list and my complete Prospect and FYPD list! You also get access to the Dynasty Dugout Discord, a sheet that shows you the best available players and prospects in your Fantrax dynasty league, and much more! Now that ranking sheets are done I will begin writeups on all prospects and dynasty players!
