It has been a long time coming, but I am very proud of how far this app has come from it being drop-down boxes in a Google Sheet when we first unveiled the trade calculator and dynasty $ values back in February. With the help of some terrific friends, we now have a beautiful app that runs incredibly clean.

The Dynasty Dugout trade calculator will help you make decisions based on my three-year dynasty projection system.

This system has been a long time coming. I had the vision to build a 3-year projection system for dynasty baseball leagues to help managers understand how to value players over a several-year period.

With dynasty trade calculators being popular in the fantasy football community, I always wondered why we did not have any for the dynasty baseball fanatics.

To build the system, I began by using ZIPS projections. ZIPS not only projects for the current season, but they also have projections for two future seasons. So, I took ZIPS projections for 2023, 2024, and 2025.

From there, I modified them in an SGP calculator, changing playing time and innings pitched projections for future seasons, especially with prospects. Top 500 Prospects are all in the system.

The trade calculator is designed to help you make decisions in trades. I have modified prospect projections to help give a more accurate projection on them. I have also added a tab for “prospect trade value.” Basically, this looks at players just drafted or signed internationally that may not provide any on-field production by 2025. Does that mean they don’t have dynasty value? No. Therefore this column helps add the perceived value these prospects carry in trades in dynasty.
